Dr. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi of Kalsi Hospital and Dr Patwantinder Kaur  M.O. Red cross Maternity Hospital are names which the people in and around Jagraon takes very respectfully and are proud of the same. Recently at a big function, the couple  was awarded  "Bhai Laloo Award".

   Dr. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi was born  on 3rd August 1962 in Jagraon-District Ludhiana. His mother Smt. Amarjit Kaur Salh a social figure of the city  is an Ex Municipal Councillor. His father Dr. Surjan Singh Kalsi is also a renowned personality. He is a character having multiple faces. He is a social worker, a pleasing personality-whom people love and adore, an active Lions Club member and above all a very good and fluent speaker. He has the capability to handle the stage single handedly. He is a god fearing person and has full faith in almighty god. Dr. Surjan Singh and Smt Amarjit Kaur are driven by a strong religious favor. They used to pay obeisance at Nanaksar Thath. It is their unfailing faith in divine which took them to elevated height.

   Dr. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi passed his Matric and +2 examination from Government School, Jagraon. He was among the top 5 successful candidates in PMET (Punjab Medical Entrance Test). He completed his MBBS from the famous DMC & H (Dayanand Medical College and Hospital), Ludhiana. He did his M.D (Medicine) also from the same Institution. He is fond of Photography, reading and traveling. He gives the credit of his success to his  seniors  and  his  respectable teachers.

   He is the Financial   Secretary  of Local IMA unit. Apart from this he is actively involved with many social organizations. He is a member of Lions club and Ramgarhia Welfare Council-Jagraon, (An active council working for Ramgarhia Community).

   He got married to Dr. Patwantinder Kaur Bhodey, D/o of Sardar Pal Singh Bhodey of Ludhiana on 12th March, 1988. She did her MBBS from C.M.C.-Ludhiana and then D.G.O. from the same institution in 1988. Currently she is serving as M.O. at Red Cross Maternity Hospital, Jagraon. Many welfare camps have been organized under her able supervision. The couple is blessed with a daughter Harkiranpreet Kaur and a son Gursimran Singh.
