Sardar Balbir Singh Jandu was happy when he constructed classrooms for the children of his school with the help of village Panchayat at Government Middle School village Raipur Rajputtan, Distt Ludhiana, where he was posted as headmaster in 1983. He also emphasizes that students must be motivated to participate in games and other activities, so that they grow in all dimensions.

    Sardar Balbir Singh did his matriculation from Government High School, Payal in 1963.  Then he did his graduation from A. S. College, Khanna. He did B.Ed from Gurusar Sudhar in 1959. Then he did MA (History) in 1994 and MA (English) in 1997.  In 1973 he got the government job as teacher and joined at village Mimsah Distt. Sangrur. After serving at so many places he was transferred to Government Middle School, Raipur Rajputtan in 1983. He served there from 1983-2000. It was his golden period and he did a lot for the school. He constructed six rooms for students with the help of village Panchayat. His school won cup in district hockey championship.

   He worked as member of the District Convener Committee of sports. He is very popular among his colleagues. He is an active member of teacher union. He had also contested election of teachers' union. Now he is posted at Government Senior Secondary School, village Zatana as lecturer in English.
    He got married to Smt. Surjit Kaur Bhamra of Village Sarabha (Birth place of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarbha) District Ludhiana, on 14th July, 1974. She was born to Smt. Sham Kaur Ubhi on 15th March, 1948.  His father Sardar Inder Singh had served the Indian Military forces.

   She did her matriculation from Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Senior Sec. School, Sarabha in 1963. Then he joined J.B.T. at Narangwal, Ludhiana. She did her graduation from Punjab University Chandigarh. She joined the Government job at Government Middle School, village Bilaspur on 23rd July, 1973. Now she is Head mistress at Government Primary School, Payal. The couple is blessed with three brilliant daughters.
