Shri Narain Dass Dhiman (Salh)

Sh.Narain Dass Dhiman was one of the richest person of our community, A top Industrialist of
Ludhiana and one of the great Philanthropist of Ramgarhiakom.

He is the person who always think about community. He contributed a lot for the education, social and religious upliftment. Shri Narian dass Ji was born to Smt Basanti on 26th November 1895 at village Maloud, Distt. Ludhiana. His father Sh. Jati Ram ji was manufactured Khoo Diya Tinda (Iron buckets to draw water from the well) in his home village, He was also takes keen interest in social Activities. So Narian Dass ji adopted this, from his parents. Then in 1928 he shifted to industrial hub of India, Ludhiana and installed a Steel Rerolling Mill.

He got married to Smt Basanti …. . The life was going well but the destiny had written something else in his life. The happiness convert in to sadness when his only son Sh. Udho Ram died at the age of 42 Years. Then Sh Narain Dass ji devoted his life for social cause. He had donated land and money for the construction of cremation Ground on G.T.Road, Dholewal, Ludhiana.

Sh Narain Dass ji Salh could be counted among those few personalities who lived, worked and made liberal contributions for the cause of poor people. He had contributed a lot for the great famous, social. Religious and educational institution of Ludhiana, Phagwara and Punjab still bear testimony to his great magnanimity. Sh.Narain Dass ji not only worked hard but spent lakhs of rupees for Vishvkarma Mandir and Schools. He had equally contributed for Gurudwara also. During his life by sheer hard work and systematic planning he built great business, Acquired large property, amassed huge wealth and installed multifarious industry M/s Jati Ram Narain Das (Industry) M/s Jati Ram Narain Das (Sales Office), Vijay Laxmi Wire Company, etc etc. some of the Famous business being run by his grand sons. He was Chairman Vishvkarma School, Ludhiana. chairman Vishvkarma Sabha, president Dhiman Sabha, and patron Ramgarhia Sabha. He lived and worked unity and solidarity of community. Sh Narain Dass ji passed away on 8^th November 1967.

His life is true story of hard work. With this he established a big empire in the heart of city, Ludhiana. Now his grand children are following his footsteps and contributing a lot for social, educational and religious cause.
