S. Bhupinder Singh Ubbi is person who has great
love for community in his heart. He is appointed
Minister of
Religion by the ministry of Consumers and
commercial Relations of the provincial Govt.
Canada in 1991 and serving the community since
then. He is also one of the founders of Ramgarhia Sikh society
in
Toronto, as well as members of many other religion, non religion and
social organizations. " |

S.
Bhupinder Singh Ubbi was born to Smt. Kartar Kaur Lotay on 1st April
1938 at village Jhamat, Distt Ludhiana. His father S. Hari Singh
Ubbi
served the Indian railways as an Executive Officer. S. Bhupinder Singh did his matriculation from
Ashoka High School Sirhand in 1955. He was a good player of hockey
and football. During his school he was declared all around best
student of the year in 1954. He joined Government College
Ludhiana for F.Sc. He completed a three years diploma in mechanical
engineering with distinction from G.N.E. Ludhiana, in 1961. He then
Graduated in Mechanical engineering from Institute of Engineers
India( A.M.I.E). |

After
completing his education he joined Ramgarhia Polytechnic, Phagwara in 1961
as Mechanical engineering instructor. Then he got the chance to joined renowned company
called H.M.T, Pinjore in 1964. He
worked their with full dedication and left the company as Supervisor (
Final Assembly) in
1972 with good understanding, where he got the chance to visit Canada.
In 1972. He joined the company F.G.L precision work Ltd. in
Toronto as mould/tool and die maker. During his service in the
company, he upgraded his technical education by completing courses in this
field recognized by the ministry of colleges and universities in Toronto
in 1981. He also completed a computer science course from Seneca
college in the same years. He worked for the company F.G.L. for 30 years and
retired as supervisor and incharge of the E.D.M. Section. This was his 3rd position in the
company. Very few Asian may reach up to this level. 30 years with
F.G.L. in itself is a record example for his dedicated services rendered
in Canada. |

He is a socially active individuals. In 1980, Ramgarhia Sikh
society was established along with like minded Ramgarhia brethrens . He has served the society as P.R.O
two times, Gen. Secretary three times and as president two times.
Now he is an advisor of the Ramgarhia Sikh society as well as
Ontario Sikh and Gurudwara council. With his
contribution and foresightedness "Ramgarhia Sikh
society" is a world renowned society of Ramgarhia's. The society is
regularly providing information and guidance to the community
including helping to resolve small disputes among families, helping the
young Ramgarhia in matrimonial alliances.

directory of North America and regularly arranging family
picnic to have fun and understandings among Ramgarhia children .
These are just a few examples of the contribution the society makes. The society
established Ramgarhia Gurudwara (RiVALDA) after purchasing an industrial
unit which became operational in 1989. The society is regularly honoured the distinction
personalities among Ramgarhia for their contribution to the society
and nation. Presently he is a advisor of the same.
Sardar ubbi is a member and active worker of many other societies
and organization. He is very good Stage secretary as well as a Tabla
player.
The services of
S. Bhupinder Singh Ubbi are recognized by Canadian government. He
was given appreciation awards from the government in recognitions for
his community services in 1996 and 2002. He has also been awarded by
the Ramgarhia Sikh Society and the Ontario Sikhs and Gurudwara
Council (OSGC). |

S. Bhupinders Singh Ubbi married to Smt. Avtar Kaur Dewgan on
13 October 1961. She is also very pious and god fearing lady.
She had helped and supported her husband in every aspect with her untiring
support. The couple is blessed a son and two daughters who are
all married and are well settled in Canada.
