:: Family of S. Teja Singh Birdi ::

" It was hard time when S. Teja Singh Birdi lost his Right hand fingers in an accident in 1961. He was only 26 years old and was on the rise and setting up of his carrier. But he has not loosen heart. After recovery he started with full zeal and zest and establishes himself as pioneer person in developing of complete pulp, paper and card board machines in Ludhiana. A person who started his carrier as helper now providing job for more than 150 persons in his establishment "Balwindra Paper Mill" spread in Apox. 25000 Sq. metres "

     S Teja Singh Birdi was born to Smt. Punjab Kaur Rayat on 20^th May 1935 in a small village Kailpur, Near Ludhiana. His father S. Kapoor Singh was a skilled carpenter and had his own shop at Mullanpur Ludhiana.
    S. Teja Singh did his matriculation from Government High School Dakha, Distt Ludhiana in 1950.Then he joined Khalsa College Sudhar for further studies. In 1953 he joined as apprentice at Indian National Airways Dum Dum, Kolkatta. Then he joined Engine overhaul division as fitter. In 1955 he joined Swastika Paper mill at Balour. West Bangal as fitter and stayed their up to 1958, then he called back to Dum Dum Airport , but he did not stay with nationalized airline for long time and came to Chandigarh. He worked as over all incharge of Chandigarh Paper Board Mill, Chandigarh from the commencement to its operational. He worked their for eight years and shifted to Karnal and joined Karnal Paper Board Mill as incharge.
    In 1972 the family shifted to the industrial hub of Punjab Ludhiana. S.Teja Singh started to develop and design card board plant machinery. He established Deluxe Rubber Industry on partnership base. Then he established Sukhbindra Mechanical Engineer, Sherpur Khurad and started to manufacture all type of complete pulp, paper and board plants independently. Under the brand name of “SME”. he supplied plants machinery in the different parts of India. In 1987 he established Balwindera Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd at Tajpur road Ludhiana
     S.Teja Singh Birdi married to Smt Amar Kaur Ubhi in 1954. The couple is blessed with 2 sons.

Elder son Sukhbinder Singh Birdi was born on 28^th October 1958. He got his primary education from Chandigarh and Karnal. He did his matriculation in 1975 from Dashmesh high school, Ludhiana. Then he joined his father in Deluxe Rubber industries. In 1980 he withdraw his share and he started to help his father in the business of manufacturing card board plant machinery. S. Sukhbinder Singh had served the Lionism as chartered president of Lions club Ludhiana "Amar". He became MJF also and served the lion Distt 32-D1 on various posts.

He has a very close association with Baba Sadhu Singh of Nanksar. He has accompanied him in various country to baptized Sikhs. Now he is one of the directors of Balwindera Paper Mill Pvt. Ltd.. S. Sukhbinder Singh Birdi married to Smt Surinder Kaur Jandu on 7th Dec 1980. The couple is blessed with one son.

Younger son S. Balwinder Singh Birdi was born on 6^th Dec 1965. He did his matriculation from Dashmesh High School Ludhiana in 1980 and graduation from Arya College Ludhiana in 1985. He joined his family business and become a successful businessman. Balwinder was politically an socially very active. He served as President of Lions Club Ludhiana Amar. Dduring his saty in India he has worked as active member of Shromani Akali Dal (Badal) . In 2002 he left India and went USA. He married to Smt. Inderjit Kaur on 7^th December 1986 and the couple is blessed with a son and a daughter.
