S.Harjinder Singh Naitta was born on 18th
November 1963 to Smt. Rattan Kaur Naitta (Jutla) and
S. Assa Singh Naitta in Pattar Kalan, a village of
district Jalandhar. His father S. Assa Singh had worked
in British petroleum in Nairobi, Kenya. In 1970 the
family shifted to England. S. Assa Singh joined a
textile unit as tester and acquired
intense
knowledge
of textile industries, which helped him to establishing
his own manufacturing unit “Nater Leisurewear” in 1972.
After some time ,they successfully marketed their own
brand, ”Ballinger” which is recognised for its quality
and design in the world .The demand for the quality
products rocketed, and to cope up with it, they
inducted new technology and machinery and started
exporting this product to European countries.
The business was jointly run by his father and his
brother S. Harjit Singh Naitta, and the company
providing job to more than 150 people.
The increase in demand of product require larger
premises hence they shifted to new site and old factory
site was sold and new one sought.
Joe got his primary education from
Nairobi,
after shifted to UK he completed his “O” level and “A”
level education. He joined British Army Ordinance Corp.
as soldier. On the other side “Nater leisure Wear” was
progressing well, work load was increasing day by day,
so there was a need of another family person to handle
company work. So Joe left the army after three years of
dedicated service and joined the family business..

In
2008 when the family business was on the good track Joe
joined politics and dedicated himself to social welfare related work. After assessing his
public relation and hard work for the public liberal
Democratic Party choose him their next contestant for
councillor. He fulfilled the desire and elected councillor of Belgaraves,
Derby ,and later he became
cabinet member of sports, leisure and art culture. He is also vice chairman
on the Crime and Disorder,
member of Scrutiny Commission and many more. He also
made us
proud being the first ramgarhia councillor of Belgaraves. |
