Surinder Singh Bhamra

  

      "During my visit to Mumbai I rang up Surinder Singh Bhamra a popular  Tabla Player, Who appeared in various TV programs and popular for his special Tabla style. He was happy to know about my visit. He shared with me that he came to know from one of his friend about the site www.ramgarhiakom.com. He used to visit the website frequently to know about the activities of ramgarhias. He appreciated my work done on the site for ramgarhias. He was also happy that I publish articles about the achievements of various ramgarhias of the world."

       Surinder Singh Bhamra born to Smt Maninder Kaur Bhamra (Matharu) and S. Darshan Singh Bhamra on 15th March 1970.  His father dedicated to Namdhari Sector and a true dispel of Satguru Jagjit Singh ji. Surinder born at Suket Mandi Himachal , The place is the home of last Rabab which was given by 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji to Maharaja Sid Sen in 1692 and remain one of the priceless relics of Sikh history. The Suket Mandi Maharaja was also given 7.4” Rifel (Bandok, Gun), Gun powder dispenser (COUPY) a 6’2” Bed (Manja) and Stuffed Cotton Mattress (Talai) the Rabab is
 I 4”Long. Visitors of Suket Mandi see (Darshan) to these rare items.

     Surinder did not receive any formal education but he is blessed with a special skill of Tabla playing. Surinder started playing Tabla at the age of 4 yrs. With the blessing of Satguru Jagjit Singh he become a good student of world renowned Tabla player S. Harbhajan Singh and S. Mohinder Singh. He learned Tabla from masters with dedication.

     Surinder started to perform at the age of 9, and later he joined his elder brother at Mumbai. He played in the presence of 65000 peoples. First he got chance to work with  Anu Kapoor’s show “Antakshri” and “Meri Awaz Suno” but he was noticed  from Movers and Shakers, a popular talk show hosted by Shekhar Suman.` He  shared the stage with many artists of the film industry .He has worked in  Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Non Sense Unlimited and Comedy Circus etc.

    Surinder is a cool and always smiling kind of personality. He takes joke so easily and reacts with smile in his shows. Though many people have criticized these shows for jokes targeting Sikh communities.

     Surinder has received many awards and honours for his Tabla skills. After receiving a South Honour, Surinder was awarded Hira Manek Award, recently in Mumbai -- a cultural body engaged in the promotion of the young talents in different fields.

       Surinder is happily married to Smt Rajinder Kaur on 25th September 1994.
The couple is blessed with daughter and son.
